At the Hungarian State Theatre in Cluj the director Andrei Şerban stages a theatrical adaptation of the cinematic masterpiece Cries and whispers by Ingmar Bergman, the show will be taking place at the new studio hall.
„In Andrei Şerban’s show the feminine characters are played by Anikó Pethő, Emőke Kató, Imola Kézdi and Csilla Varga. A caracteristic of the show is the fact that in the show the image of director Ingmar Bergman appears, in consequence we see an inner perspective over the rehersals before the shootings, often interrupted by instructions from Bergman and questions from the actors.”, is specified in a bulletin sent to our editorial office.
„Bergman rehersed with his actresses before the shootings. Let’s imagine that the film’s fiction becomes reality, to try to understand the mystery of one of the greatest directors, in an intimate collaboration with four exceptional actresses.”, states the director Andrei Şerban. Bergman’s role is played by the actor Bogdán Zsolt and the role of his assistant is played by Albert Csilla.
The theatrical adaptation is made by Andrei Şerban and Daniela Dima. The scene painting is made by Carmencitei Brojboiu. The show’s premiere will be on 24th of January and will be preceded by four rehersals with audience between 20th and 23rd of January, starting with 5p.m..
The shows wil be overtitled in Romanian. The production is forbidden to young people under 18 years old!
